Dr. Haruni MachumuHead of Educational Foundation and Teaching Management Department
Dr. Haruni Machumu has an interest in educational leadership and management as well as quality issues in educational technology integration. He has been a faculty member at the Faculty of Social Sciences – Mzumbe University since 2008. He is currently the head of the Department of Educational Foundations and Teaching Management (EFTM). He has a PhD in educational sciences from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. His PhD research is situated in the area of educational technology integration (blended learning, e-learning and online learning). His research interests lie in the area of ICT in education and pedagogy, human communication, e-learning theory, design and implementation; educational financing, quality assurance in education. He has collaborated actively with researchers on students and teachers exchange programmes, project write-up and implementation. Machumu instructs a popular research methodology in education course to undergraduate students. He supervises undergraduate, Master and PhD candidates. Dr. Maria KanigiHead of Languages and Communication Studies Department
Dr. Maria Mkunde Kanigi is a lecturer at Mzumbe University, and head of the Department of Languages and Communication Studies. The Department is in the Faculty of Social Sciences. She is a linguist and specializes in applied linguistics. She is proficient in teaching English and Kiswahili as second languages. She is also proficient in the French language.
